Korean Air provides emergency assistance to tsunami victims in Indonesia

Korean Air delivered 2,000 boxes of mineral water to victims of the tsunami in the Sunda Strait of Indonesia a few days ago through the Indonesian Red Cross.

The coastal cities of the islands of Sumatra and Java have suffered considerable material damage and a large number of victims have been reported following volcanic activity in the Sunda Strait, which caused underwater landslides on 22 December.

According to the Indonesian national disaster management authorities, the number of casualties continues to increase. Korean Air’s water boxes will be distributed to victims in the most affected cities.

« With this humanitarian assistance, we sincerely hope to help the victims of the Sunda Strait region to overcome the tragedy and recover quickly, » said a Korean Air representative.

Korean Air is a committed company that uses its network as an international carrier and provides assistance during recent disasters: earthquakes in Indonesia (2018), collapse of the Laos dam (2018), cyclone in Fiji (2016), earthquakes in Kumamoto (2016) or floods in Myanmar (2015).
