Why the US president will finally release Jeffrey Epstein’s files

The President of the United States has changed his mind : he has called on Republican lawmakers to vote to authorize the release of thousands of documents related to this sex crimes case.

A new twist in the case of financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. US President Donald Trump, known for his U-turns in this investigation concerning child sexual abuse and exploitation, has finally called on Republican members of the House of Representatives to vote in favor of releasing the files related to the case.

« We have nothing to hide and it’s time to put this Democratic hoax behind us, » he proclaimed on his social network, Truth Social (New window), reiterating the baseless allegation of a trap set by his political opponents targeting him.

The bill, passed almost unanimously by members of Congress, stipulates that the U.S. Department of Justice must release the contents of this dossier within 30 days.

This time, Donald Trump promised he would do nothing more to stop it after having tried everything for months to oppose it.

Elected officials « will have access to everything they are legally entitled to. I DON’T CARE, » the US president concluded.

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in prison in 2019, before the start of his trial for sex crimes.
