Why Delta Air Lines launches Locals

Delta Locals is a new digital storytelling platform created by Delta Air Lines. Launched this November, the Delta Locals website allows aspiring travelers to find inspiration for their next trips through recommendations shared by and for the community. Los Angeles, Tokyo, Patagonia, and Sicily are already available, and many more destinations will be added gradually.

For the holiday season, Delta Air Lines is unveiling Delta Locals, its new digital platform designed to inspire future travels and make them more authentic.

Presented for the first time at CES 2025, kicking off the airline’s centennial year, this initiative marks a significant milestone: offering much more than just a plane ticket, but a truly personalized travel experience, designed by local communities in the destinations served by the American carrier.

Delta Locals is a digital storytelling platform combining immersive narratives, personalized itineraries, and rich cultural content.

The goal: to allow travelers to discover the world through the voices of those who live there—artists, chefs, surfers, passionate locals…

These « insiders » share their favorite places for art, culture, gastronomy, or adventure, often absent from traditional tourist guides.

Accessible via DeltaLocals.com, the platform opens onto an interactive globe: users click on a destination, access profiles of « locals, » and watch themed videos (art, cuisine, nature, walks, etc.) to build their trip from a more authentic and personal perspective.

Since its launch, Delta Locals already offers content for four destinations: Los Angeles, Tokyo, Patagonia, and Sicily.

Other cities will be gradually added in late 2025 and throughout 2026, thus expanding the range of experiences for travelers worldwide.
