JW Marriott Seoul reopens after major renovations

W Marriott, a brand of the Marriott International Group, Inc. announces the reopening of the JW Marriott Seoul. After 8 months of renovation, the hotel’s new contemporary design pays tribute to this unmissable Asian city.

« The transformation of the JW Marriott Seoul represents an important milestone for the JW Marriott brand, » said Mitzi Gaskins, Vice President & Global Brand Manager, JW Marriott. « We are delighted to introduce the JW Marriott Seoul to national and international travellers and offer them the highest level of luxury and service in this exciting city. »

JW Marriott Seoul, which was inaugurated in 2000, was originally Marriott International’s first luxury establishment in South Korea. Ideally located in Gangnam, a chic and dynamic district, JW Marriott Seoul is a few steps away from gourmet restaurants, the best shopping spots, museums and galleries. Directly connected to the luxurious Shinsegae Department store and three metro lines, it is an ideal location to visit the city.

Designed by the essential French interior designer Bruno Moinard of AGENCE 4BI, the hotel reveals a modern yet warm and welcoming aesthetic.

Also involved in this project, the American company, Olson Kundig, introduced the presence of natural elements to give the hotel a whole new look. JW Marriott Seoul’s Japanese restaurant, Tamayura – redesigned by Casappo & Associates – combines tradition and modernity in a minimalist setting where wood dominates as in the other restaurants of the Flavors Hotel and Café One.

With 379 rooms, JW Marriott Seoul offers the most spacious rooms in the city, including two penthouses and 32 suites. Korean interior designer KESSON has created a contemporary and refined universe in each room in a shade of taupe, beige and grey that highlights the photos of Korean artist Seungsang Park.
