Cathay Pacific at RISE in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong airline is supporting eight local start-ups with innovative solutions at Asia’s largest technology conference, RISE, in Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific continues to encourage young talent in Hong Kong by sponsoring eight local start-ups present at RISE and selected for their technological and innovative initiatives whose high potential can make a difference in the travel and technology industry.

RISE, Asia’s largest technology conference, is currently taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre until 11 July 2019.

More than 350 speakers, including the heads of multinationals but also emerging start-ups, are participating in this new edition, which should welcome more than 16,000 people from more than 100 countries.

As RISE’s official air partner for the second year in a row, Cathay Pacific is continuing to develop its « Ignition Project », a new large-scale IT ecosystem launched in the previous edition.

The company’s involvement in RISE is a key element of this initiative, which focuses on various pillars: the internal strengthening of the company’s technological skills, the training of young talent with the 24-hour Cathay Pacific Hackathon and the support provided to startups through the Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP) Public Incubator’s Global Acceleration Academy program.
