The world’s largest dinosaur arrives at Chicago’s Field Museum

The iconic T-Rex at the Field Museum (Chicago Museum of Natural History) will undergo a major renovation in 2018. He will then be moved from Stanley Field Hall to join The Griffin Halls of Evolving Planet in 2019.

The largest dinosaur ever discovered will succeed him in the main hall of the museum. This Patagotitan Mayorum, 37 metres long and part of the Titanosaurus family, will become the centrepiece of the museum since only one other reproduction of this species can be observed in the world.

This new acquisition was made possible by a $16.5 million (‘13.45 million) donation from Kenneth C. Griffin’s investment fund. This is one of the largest private contributions to a Chicago museum.

Chicago elected World’s best city for having it all
.
For the second year in a row, Chicago topped the list of the most exciting cities to visit and live in 2018. With a rich musical and cultural scene, a very varied range of restaurants, Chicago is ahead of Porto and New York.

The proximity between people and its affordability also played a role. All these reasons combined have made Chicago the « happiest and proudest city in the world » by those who live there and those who have stayed there.

In this ranking, 15,000 people from 32 cities around the world were interviewed.
